Villain was playing 21/6/.8 over 55 hands. I just really felt that he had a K and just really felt that he going to snap call any normal sized bet on the river, but I really thought he would have to fold anything but a 4 or a 6 on the river, or is this just a good old case of FPS?

Villain looks too staiony to pull this off. Also, it's b v b, and players tend not to give much credit in these situations. How is villain supposed to believe you have a 4 or 6 in your range? I don't see him folding a K in this spot very often at all, even to to overbet.
